Program: What You Need to Know About Basic Estate Planning Documents
Presenter: Jessie Rember, Estate Planning Attorney; Owner, J Rember Law

A good estate plan is a critical piece of any financial plan. In addition to taking care of your assets once you are gone, an estate plan should take care of you during your lifetime. There is a lot of free information available from the people around you, books, podcasts, and the internet. However, free information is often worth what you paid for it. In this presentation, I will talk you through what a good estate plan looks like and debunk many myths about estate planning.

There are 3 parts to a good estate plan: financial and medical power of attorney forms to cover you during your lifetime, the will which covers you after your death, and the Living Will which covers the in between. We also cover the difference between trusts and wills, the different ways to transfer a home, and why you don’t just put your kids on all your accounts.
