Susan Miedzianowski, Ph.D., CSA, has more than 50 years of experience in the healthcare industry and personal experience as a caregiver. In her role as an educator, Susan focuses on the philosophy that education should always be fun, experiential, empowering, and meaningful. Dr. M., as she is known to her learners, teaches gerontology and healthcare administration at the college level and is a certified proofreader. In addition to serving as an instructor for the Society of Certified Senior Advisors for the past 12 years, Susan served as a member of the CSA Journal editorial board. She was the editorial board’s chairperson for over four years and a CSA Exam Review Committee member. Susan has written several articles for the CSA Journal on various topics and has been a speaker at several conferences.
Susan holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Detroit, a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Central Michigan University, a master’s degree in aging resources management from the University of Southern California, and a Ph.D. from Capella University in human services with a focus on gerontology.
Susan and her husband, Ted, have been married for over 50 years. They have five daughters, 14 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with friends and family, embroidery, and is a Harry Potter fanatic!
