Session Info

Jami Shapiro is the founder of Silver Linings Transitions, a San Diego-based senior and specialty move management company that has been transforming lives for over a decade. Her journey to becoming a leader in senior transitions began with a profound shift in perspective following a cancer diagnosis, which led her to transition from real estate to a mission-focused career helping others navigate life’s most challenging changes.

After years of serving seniors in their homes, Jami was able to make the connection that many of these clutter challenged seniors were actually living with undiagnosed ADHD.  ADHD is highly heritable and does not go away with age.  She is now passionate about raising awareness around the intersection of seniors with ADHD. Drawing from her unique combination of experiences as a Realtor and Certified Senior Move Manager, Jami brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her work. As someone who lives with ADHD and comes from a family with a history of chronic disorganization, she intimately understands the challenges many face with organization and “letting go.” This personal connection, combined with her professional training as a Level II Specialist in ADHD from the Institute for Challenging Disorganization, allows her to approach her work with authentic empathy and practical solutions.

Under Jami’s leadership, Silver Linings Transitions has earned recognition as a Diamond Society and an A+ Accredited member of the National Association of Senior and Specialty Move Managers. Her company consistently maintains five-star ratings across Yelp, Google, and Facebook, testament to their commitment to excellence in senior moves, downsizing, divorce transitions, and home organization.

A dynamic speaker known for mixing humor with professional wisdom, Jami regularly presents throughout Southern California and nationally on topics including downsizing, organizing, ADHD, and navigating moves due to divorce. She hosts the “Grandma Has ADHD” podcast and has appeared on numerous podcasts and television shows focused on senior living and retirement. Her presentations combine years of hands-on experience with personal insights, making complex topics accessible and engaging for diverse audiences.

Jami is a CSA and her additional professional designations include a Level 2 Specialist with ICD, a Certified Senior Move Manager and Senior Real Estate Specialist. Jami is also in the process of earning her ADHD coaching certification with ADDCA. Jami continues to advocate for better understanding and support of seniors facing major life transitions, particularly those dealing with organizational challenges and ADHD.
