Christopher S. Barnthouse, MBA, CLTC is a retired Army officer and semi-retired financial advisor who lives in Carmel, Indiana with his wife of 38 years, Lisa.  During his 25-year military career he served as a medica on a Special Forces scuba team, an infantry officer in the United States and Germany, and as a public affairs officer in Indianapolis.  Embarking on a career as a financial advisor in 1998, he quickly began specializing in and studying long term care solutions, including completing CSA in 2003.  While becoming one of the top long term care insurance producers in Indiana state history, he became a teacher and an advocate on senior issues.  He has written extensively on the topic of long term care planning and teaches continuing education classes on the topic throughout the state.  In addtion he has leveraged his knowledge and reputation to influence legislation in Indiana and on the national level.  He is personally credited with moving three long term care related bills through the Indiana General Assembly and is currently consulting on a fourth.  He frequently consults with Congresswoman Victoria Spartz’s office on health care issues and travels to Washington, DC annually to meet with members of Congress during the National Association of Insurance and Fianancial Advisors Congressional Conference.  Always loyal to his fellow veterans, Barnthouse served as Master of Ceremonies at the Crown Hill National Cemetery Memorial Day service for more than 30 years and continues to MC the annual wreath laying at President Benjamin Harrison’s grave.  He also helps organize and speaks at veterans events around the state.  As a member of Vietnam Veterans of America Ammy L Davis Chapter 295, he helped design and present a quarterly briefing to veterans, their spouses and veterans widows to explain the benefits they have earned to them.  These presentations have been credited wtih helping dozens of veterans and their family members get the benefits they have earned.  Barnthouse serves on the board of directors for NAIFA-Indiana.  He is also a member of Lawrence Sunrise Kiwanis, AMVETS, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion.  He has an undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from Nicholls State University and an MBA from the University of Indianapolis.
