Bob Bacheler is an experienced critical care nurse with over 30 years in the healthcare industry, including 20 years as a flight nurse. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Flying Angels, which provides non-emergency medical transport on commercial airlines globally.
In addition to his role at Flying Angels, Bob has contributed extensively to the Air & Surface Transport Nurses Association (ASTNA) as a member of the Board of Directors, where he helped shape policies related to medical transport by air.
Bob’s career includes serving as a flight nurse and international flight coordinator, where he was responsible for the medical management of patients traveling across the U.S. and internationally. He also has a rich academic background, contributing to multiple texts on patient transport and serving as an adjunct critical care clinical instructor at Neumann University in their BSN program.
Bob holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). His certifications include Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN), and Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP). He has a Travel Health (CTH) certification from the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM). Bob has also been recognized as a Healthcare Hero.
