Providing People with Disabilities and their Caregivers Tools for Financial Support and Independence

This session will explain the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) program and its role as a critical tool to support people with disabilities, their families, and caregivers. ABLE accounts help account holders to maintain critical state and federal benefits while saving and investing to support better financial health and independence.

Learning Objectives:

  1. As a result of this presentation, participants will be able to identify the benefits of an ABLE account to support people with disabilities, their families, and caregivers.
  2. Participants will be able to state at least three characteristics of the ABLE program that are important to support financial health and independence for people with disabilities.
  3. At the conclusion of this presentation, attendees will be able to share basic information about this IRS tax-advantaged program that will assist their clients, their client’s families, or caregivers to access state ABLE programs that will support greater financial stability and independence.
