How Financial Psychology Can Help You Talk About Money With Your Clients and Families
Finance & Insurance
Date: Saturday, August 23, 2025
Time: 10:20 am
Most people feel stressed about their financial situation. Financial planners, CSAs, and other professionals often wonder why their clients do not follow the well-developed plans that are created for them, based on their goals and wishes. Financial psychology highlights the cognitive biases, financial triggers and beliefs that are preventing clients from taking action that aligns with their financial goals. When the topic of money is discussed among family members (if it even is a topic of discussion), the situation may be tense and decisions made under duress are often challenged by the client and/or family members. This session will give you techniques to discover your own personal financial psychology and strategies for more productive conversations about money. By understanding the principles of financial psychology, CSAs will be able to communicate more effectively about money with their clients.
Learning Objectives:
- Discover your own money mindset (money script) and money story.
- Build trust with clients through effective communication strategies around money.
- How to support clients’ decisions to act in their own financial best interests.
This session is not intended to be a substitute for professional financial advice from a qualified financial advisor.
